The QR code reader can read two types of QR codes:
- URLs
- Digital Business Card
How to create a QR code for a URL
- Open any QR code generator
- Enter the URL you wish the QR code to go to
- Press the Create button and your QR code will appear. You can scan this QR code and from the EventPilot native apps to easily open a particular website.
How to create a QR code for a digital business card
- Open the EventPilot App Contacts tab
- Click on the Gear icon > My Contact Info
- Enter the details and keep them as short as possible:
- First Name
- Last Name
- Professional Title
- Organization
- Phone
- URL (do not include http, only enter the URL like this: www.ativsoftware.com)
- Notes (up to 100 char)
- Press DONE
- From the Gear icon, select Send as QR. You can scan that code from any EventPilot native apps.
What QR code format is supported in-app?
The built in lead retrieval system can read a variety of formats. Learn more about lead retrieval.
Alternatively, you can use the MeCard format:
You can use any QR code generator, set it to plain text data type, and enter the details in the following format:

Any QR code reader should read this into the device's contacts list while EventPilot's QR code reader displays the data in the built-in contacts list.
