When the speaker portal is enabled, the uploaded content is automatically imported and linked in:
Agenda > Speakers
Agenda > Sessions
Media > Media Data
Publish Your Content to Review
Once speakers have started uploading content, a data publish imports and publishes the linked content.
- In order to view the media items, publish to proof by clicking on Publish Menu in the top left in the Conference App Builder
- Publish Proof Data and then open your proof Planner (Conference App Builder > Home > Planner) and navigate to a session you know has a media item uploaded by the speaker to review.
- If everything looks the way you like, go ahead and publish to live Publish Menu > Publish Live Data
Schedule Automatic Imports with EventPilot Pro
If you use EventPilot Pro, you can choose when to reimport the data sources. If you use the Import All for your other data sources from your Conference App Builder Home screen, then the speaker portal content will be imported at the same time.
Or set up scheduled automatic imports and publishes. Ask your project manager to enable auto import / publish. After this feature is set up, you can choose the times when to schedule the automatic import and publish.
FAQ
I am asking speakers to upload a virtual poster. How can I set up an ePoster Gallery in the app?
If you are using EventPilot Pro, ask your project manager to set up filters for your speaker portal. Your project manager would map your label (e.g. "Virtual Poster") as a filter.
The following filters are available for mapping:
- Label (e.g. "Virtual Poster" depending on which labels you created in your Speaker Portal setup)
- Session Type (e.g. see Agenda > Session Types)
- Agenda Filter 1 through 4 > If you have added metatags ( filters) for your Agenda > Sessions, these same metatarsi are also applied to uploaded content automatically and can be mapped.
Once your project manager has set up the filters for you, you now have the following options:
Prefiltered list of items
- Go to Design > Home Screens or Design > Tab Layouts and add a new button or tab
- Use the ActionBuilder > Select Action
- Select List of Items > Select Media > Select Add Filter > Select then name of the filter that contains the label > select in our example Virtual Poster > Click Save
- Click the Save button
Browse by keyword
EventPilot automatically generates a custom view listing each keyword in a filter. Imagine you have a Topics filter in your agenda sessions data with keywords like Heart Failure, Hypertension, Prevention, etc., the page Design > Custom Views would then automatically include a view that lists each keyword and your attendees could then browse sessions by those topics. Look for the view ID agenda_filter1, agenda_filter2, etc. If the filter keywords are imported by your Project Manager into the media data via the Speaker Portal setup, then you also have media_filter... custom view which allows your users to browse the uploaded content by keywords.
- Go to Design > Home Screens or Design > Tab Layouts and add a new button or tab
- Use the ActionBuilder > Select Action
- Select App Function > Select Custom View > Select the name of your filter (you can edit and see the filter labels by opening the Media > Media Data page) > Click Save
