Why does the app request permissions during install? Why does the app need access to location/GPS?

We do not collect or track personal information from your device - the app simply needs some basic information from your OS to run.

Storage / SD card contents

For the app to work offline so that you don't need a constant internet, the session data is downloaded to your device. This also enables high performance to browse, filter, and search through massive conference programs of thousands of sessions and presentations.

Whenever the organizer sends a new data update, the file is stored in your device's memory. Note: Old data files are cleaned up by the app automatically so the app keeps the smallest data storage footprint possible on your device.

Camera / Photos

Your app may include a QR code reader or offer the option to share photos. Both features need to have access to your camera.

Location

Your event organizers may have set up location-specific information, which uses GPS. For example, when you arrive at the airport, the app could be set up to give you information on shuttle services. For you to be able to receive such messages, the app requires access to your location.
